AMEB Piano for Leisure Grade 7 - Pass with Honours, Current Blue Card (working with children)
I have recently completed my first year of teaching with a range of students between the ages of 5 and 24 and have loved sharing my passion for playing keys. I was trained under the AMEB Piano for Leisure syllabus and attended many jazz camps run by John Morrison that pushed skills such as improvisation. My emphasis in teaching is therefore more about expressive playing and individual interpretation of the music rather than technical accuracy. More importantly, I individually tailor my teaching style to each student to accommodate their interests and learning style; in short, who needs onerous when it can be fun? In my personal time I have explored a range of solo and group performance types including contemporary, lounge, electronica and jazz. I am a brand new resident of Melbourne and look forward to sharing my passion with you.
