After completing her Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma of Music at the Conservatorium, Griffith University and singing with Opera Queensland for two years, Amanda moved to Sydney to further her studies at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney and graduated with her Master of Music Studies.
She has been soloist with Queensland Pop’s Orchestra, performing in the Best of British Concert series, New Years Eve Concert, Cinema Sensations Concerts and the Flood Relief Concert. For Central Coast Philharmonia, she has sung many times, most recently, Vivaldi’s Gloria and John Rutter’s Gloria.
She has performed in the chorus for Opera Australia in a number of opera’s from 2005, including The Pirates of Penzance, both in the Sydney Opera House, as well as on tour. She performed in the debut of the ‘Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour’ in 2012 with La Traviata. She then performed on the Harbour Stage, in 2013 with Carmen and again, in 2014 with Madama Butterfly. She will be performing in Madama Butterfly in 2015, in the Opera House.
Besides roles performed at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Amanda’s other performances include the children’s opera roles of Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and Cassandra in The Sound Garden (for Opera Queensland) and Jodie the Juggler in Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing (for Oz Opera). She also performed the role of Fantine in Les Miserable (Gold Coast Art Centre).
