Bachelor of Music Education, Certificate III in Suzuki Pedagogy
I learnt violin via the Suzuki method from the age of 4, right up until I went to study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. After my study I lived in the UK for many years where I taught privately and was a member of the Sussex Symphony Orchestra. These days I play and record professionally with a number of bands throughout Sydney, performing in a variety of different styles, though mainly bluegrass and Irish.
I teach Suzuki Method but can also provide AMEB based learning if that is preferred. Aural skills, sight reading and good posture/technique are all taught, however my primary focus is to encourage a love of playing the violin.
Together with my background in folk music I encourage students to take an active interest in other styles of violin.
I believe every student has potential and I seek to find and develop that potential through achievable goals and lessons tailored to each individual.
If you have any questions about Suzuki Method, AMEB or any other enquiries I will be happy to provide you with more information.
