If you are reading this and thinking to yourself, that 2017 is the year that either you or your child is going to “take the plunge” and take-up Piano Lessons, NOW is the time to act!
Barry will encourage you, and indeed, ALL students, young or old, to strive for “a spirit of excellence” which he has personally witnessed, time and again, to enable a rich reward in both achievement and advancement to be obtained.
As a demonstrated fact, we have had a most successful year, with ten of our students achieving Honours, four of those with Distinction awards of the A.M.E.B.
Students were also given the opportunity to perform publicly at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on December 18th.
Needless to say, students were excited and engaged by this wonderful opportunity, being able to play in front of their parents, relatives, friends and peers.
Other performance opportunities for 2017 will feature the City of Penrith Eistedfodd, together with the A.M.E.B. Exams and the end-of-year Public Concert, which is to be held on Sunday 17th December at the J.S.P.A.C.
Some of our students also gained further experience by public performances at their respective schools.
Whilst living in BROKEN HILL N.S.W., Barry was awarded a Piano Scholarship in 1966 to study at the State Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. Having successfully auditioned under the watchful eyes of Sir Bernard Heinze and Alexander Sverjensky, Barry’s father made arrangements to move to Sydney where he finally took up the scholarship in Term One 1968 under the guidance of Cornelia Brain.
Barry has been privileged to have studied under some very fine teachers, including Marjorie Hesse, Josephine Bell, Mack Jost, Annette Stillwell O.A.M., Paul Rickard-Ford and Clara Skriptschenko. Each of them helped develop and extend Barry’s pianism and appreciation of the finer points of musicianship and performance practices of the Piano.
Barry is indebted to each and every one of these fine educators and as a result he is able to draw upon, and bring to EACH student’s lesson, a wealth of experience and know-how.
Now living in the City of Penrith, Barry offers a professional standard of Piano tuition and instruction to pupils of all ages and at all levels; from beginners, or beginning again, through the A.M.E.B. Grades to H.S.C. and DIPLOMA students. Exams or no exams, the choice is yours. Adult students wishing to take the A.M.E.B. PIANO for LEISURE stream are most welcome.
Preferred arrangements for payment is either by 5 week “half term”/10 week “term” in advance OR lesson by lesson if personal circumstances dictate, as it is Barry’s firm belief that EVERY child (and adult) ought to have the opportunity to learn Music.
