Drum Kit, Conga, Bongo, Djembe, Bougourabou, Doun Doun, Ken Keni, log drum, hand percussion, Mbira/ Kalimba, Thumb piano.
$60/ hr. $35 1/2 hr
$80/hr. or $60 for 3/4 hr House call
Lessons avaliable from 10 am to 5pm 7 days a week.
Beginners to advanced.
1 on 1 lessons or group lessons available.
Have lessons in my Bondi Beach Studio or in the comfort of your own home.
I have performed in over 25 different countries in all styles of music.
I first began teaching in 1990 in London and have taught and coordinated large drumming ensembles of up to 75 people. * Learn how to practice efficiently. * Learn how to prepare yourself to be a working drummer. * Learn tricks how to record great takes in the studio. * Learn how to tune drums a) for Live b) for studio, and skin selection, changing heads/ skins. * Learn how to read drum notation. *Learn how to use Samplers / Triggers efficiently. *Learn how to prepare yourself for auditions, and how to keep the gig.

GRANT NAYLOR
Biography (Drum and Dance / Teaching)
Grant has a wealth of experience when it comes to teaching drums, working with dancers
and facilitating workshops. Grant has been involved with African music since 1989 and has performed in over 25 different countries.
Some of Grants achievements in these areas are: *Performing in over 700 shows In ‘Corporate Team Building’ working for ‘The Drum Café’
from 2002 – 2009 averaging 3 shows a week drumming and facilitating (public speaking),
from smaller shows up to audiences of 25,000 people. Performing for all members of society
from children to high end Corporate. *Running his own drum school in Sydney in the early 90”s called “Beaten Rhythm”
consisting of over 120 students culminating in performances with these students, with over
100 drummers performing at Sydney festival. *Resident drummer at Sydney Dance company from 95- 97. * Involved in Multiple drumming and dance companies throughout The U.K and Europe and
Australia, (Adame Drama, African Kultural Kontractors, Thelemic Pulse, Ibile,
Two Way Ting, Epizo Bangoura, Mohatta, Boloba Drum, Tribal Touch, Korzmotion Krunk,
Stalker Stilt Theatre and Jean Paul Wobotai, Human Rhythms and In Rhythm).
Grant has played drums since age 12, studying Drumkit , Congas, Bongos, Timbales,
Mbira (Thumb piano from Zimbabwe), Djembe, Bugarubu, Doondoon, Kenkeni, Sangbung,
Krin, Kalle, Shekere and Balafon. (percussion instruments from west Africa).
Grant has played music with artists from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Senegal,
Guinea, Gambia, Burkina Faso,South Africa,Tanzania, Zaire, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Granada,
Guadeloupe, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Europe, South America, the USA and the UK.
