Playing guitar is my passion and I love showing my students what a versatile instrument it is. I give lessons in my home studio at West Pymble, Sydney. My students have acoustic guitars, nylon stringed (classical) guitars and electrics. I’ve been playing guitar for more than 30 years and teaching for 5. With an emphasis on FUN, my lesson plan covers a wide range of styles – pop, rock, folk, blues, jazz and world music. I do a great deal of preparation and usually find music based on my student’s requests and preferences. They learn to read tabs, notes and chords, while covering a wide range of picking and strumming patterns. Although lessons are one-on-one time, I always host two concerts a year, in which my students get to play in duets or trios, as well as altogether in a large group. The huge group is a bit chaotic but great fun. It gives everyone the opportunity to share their love of music with like-minded friends.
