Trinity College Associate Diploma in Recital in Piano with Distinction
Bryan Ma started his love of music at the young age of four; learning the drums by hitting phone-books, and a pretend piano drawn on cardboard. Eventually he obtained a real drum kit and piano; and also started to listen to real music. Over the years his deep appreciation of music expanded, inspiring him to become a multi-instrumentalist. His instrument repertoire now includes the bass guitar, clarinet, drums / percussion, guitar, and piano.
Bryan has performed in multiple concert bands, orchestras, and also in piano recitals as a soloist. He has won various awards in piano competitions. Sometimes he acts as an accompanist to help students pass their music examinations.
Bryan’s philosophy is to encourage student’s musicianship, which means to improve as a musician in a holistic way – not just to learn to play notes. Currently, Bryan is writing educational material for music students, and performing at various events. This means his schedule is strictly limited to the weekends, at least until he finishes his book series.
