Do you wish you knew how to make digital instruments, MIDI controllers and FX plugins work the way you wished they worked? Have you got a good idea for an electronic musical instrument/software but don’t know how to make it happen?

Maybe you’re frustrated from spending hours creating complicated MIDI mappings and FX racks in Ableton/Logic/ProTools/any other annoyingly limited DAW. (I was). Or perhaps you’ve already tried Max but are having difficulty making it work as well as you’d like it to despite owning a blazing fast laptop that creams it in Ableton.

Max is where it’s at! Once you learn Max you never go back.
My tutoring covers some important fundamentals of Max patching including:

– Spaghetti Wiring (avoiding the mess) – Optimisation for speed/responsive and CPU usage – Expanding/scaling your patches and building large systems quickly whilst retaining flexibility

I have some experience with Pd, Max’s free and open source sibling, but I generally work with Max mainly for the workflow. Regardless, these concepts all apply to Pd equally.

My lessons are aimed at musicians (not programmers/software engineers). I am really into building new interfaces for improvisation and composition so if you have an idea hopefully I can help you make it happen.

Max looks daunting to begin with but really it’s super fun and not that difficult so please get in touch if you’re interested.
