Certificate 4 in Classical Music, AMEB exams
I have studied and completed Certificate 4 in Classical Music at the Edith Cowan University, WA. I studied this at the same time as doing year 11 and 12, in which I also studied TEE Music and Music in Society. I have also sat many AMEB exams, in which I have obtained high results.
I enjoy teaching students of all ages and abilities. I firmly believe that people of all ages and abilities should be given the opportunity to learn and enjoy music, and I endevour to make this possible wherever I can. I have been teaching violin, piano, group music and keyboard lessons part time since 2006, however have had some long breaks due to living overseas, having a baby etc.
I teach piano and music theory to students of varied ages and abilities, from beginners right through until about AMEB grade 4 comfortably. I teach children and adults, and will also consider teaching children with disabilities, such as down syndrome.
I have also taught group keyboard and music appreciation classes from ages 6 months to 14 years old.
I structure lessons in a variety of ways, depending on the students needs, which I will assess and also discuss with the parent before I begin teaching them. I believe that the student must feel comfortable at all times, and enjoy their lessons, as well as practice times!
I have recently taken a break as I had a baby, but now he is a toddler I am ready to take on some students again!
