Learn to sing or advance your skills in a comfortable environment with an experienced and friendly local musician.
Chelsea is a regular performer both locally and throughout Victoria with an extensive performance background. She recorded and co-produced her first EP at the age of 17 and has won various awards for her songwriting in the past. Chelsea now focuses on teaching others in the hope that she can share her passion for music, whether it be to help others to gain confidence, achieve a high VCE Music Performance result or to for fill much larger aspirations.
Chelsea’s accolades include: Kool Skools Singer-Songwriter of the Year for Victoria (2008 and 2009), ranked #1 on the Triple J Unearthed Roots Chart for two consecutive weeks (and ranked #17 on the overall Unearthed chart), awarded an ‘A’ for her VCE Music Performance program, support act for various Australian artists on festival line-ups including Angus & Julia Stone and Clare Bowditch and ten years of extensive performance experience.
Chelsea is a Performing Arts teacher (P-6) (amongst other things), directs three school choirs (two primary and one secondary school) and teaches singing privately at various Bendigo schools as well as from home of an evening.
Lessons begin with 5-10 minutes of vocal warm ups focusing on technique for vocal development, followed by singing with constructive feedback for skill building. Students will also develop techniques for looking after their voice, breathing, microphone technique, confidence and performance – and, of course the focus of every lesson is to have fun!
On the last lesson of each term, there is an optional term recording where students will have the opportunity to record one of the songs that they have been working on so that they have something to take away with them as they progress. Chelsea says, “This is something that not very many other studios or private tutors offer, but it is something that I am passionate about as it gives each student something concrete for them to take away with them that gives a snapshot of their progression each term”. From this recording the students will also gain a greater understanding of how studio recordings are made.
Meetings and trial lessons available with no commitment required. Flexible payment options available (including weekly payments, instalments or by term).
As Chelsea teaches full time, email is her preferred method of contact.
