Bachelor of Music Performance
Chloe has been studying music from age eight. In 1999 Chloe secured a full time music scholarship at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School on double bass and piano. She then went on to Study Jazz/Improvisation with Geoff Kluke and Gary Costello at The VCA, later changing to the repetoire course and studying with Steve Reeves.
From 2007 to 2009 Chloe gained a scholarship at the Australian National Academy of Music and continued studying double bass with Steve Reeves as well as Alex Henery, Maxime Bibeau, Tim Dunin, Rob Nairn, Kees Boersman and Paul Ellison.
At ANAM Chloe performed with European new-music group the Schoenberg Ensemble, the Australian
Chamber Orchestra and played violone with the Victorian Opera Company. Chloe also performed in the
ANAM orchestra under the direction of Daniel Harding, Oleg Caetani, Richard Tognetti, Brett Dean and
Chloe has performed in the world premier ‘s of David Chisholm’s Requiem ‘Kursk’, James Rushford’s
solo for double bass ‘Borders’and chamber quartet ‘Tractus’. She has also performed as principal double bass in
Victorian Opera’s production of Don Giovanni and The Magic Pudding.
