Bachelor of Music with Class I Honours in Music studies 2013 (BMus Hons), Certificate of Music - AMEB piano for leisure 2003 (CMusA)
Are you looking to take your piano playing to the next level? Does your technique need further discipline? Would you like to play more enjoyable classical repertoire?
My lessons are conducted with the ethos that music is an exact art which requires skill but also builds skill; and that learning to play the piano is a journey which leads from one success to another – with plenty of challenges, enjoyment, and support along the way. I strive to offer true value for money, and genuine service without compromise at all times.
I recently completed a Bachelor of Music (with Class I Honours in Music Studies) at Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where I excelled in performance, pedagogy, and music analysis and research. With three years in school tutoring experience, and altogether six years of one-on-one piano tutoring, I find pleasure in assisting students with their piano technique, repertoire, music theory and analysis, and aesthetic development; and also assisting in preparations for auditions into tertiary schools of music (up to a Grade 8 music level).
My personal highlights so far include being awarded the certificate of music (CMusA) from AMEB in 2003; and writing a collection of piano pieces, and performing them in front of a live audience in 2008. Aside from continuing to compose piano and choral music, I remain in touch with performance practices, with the idea to be a well-rounded musician in mind, and perform on a regular basis with chamber choirs, in Brisbane, and on tours around Australia. Most recently, I performed for the Australian Consulate General stationed in Kobe, Japan.
