I have been playing drums since 2008 and am currently studying a Bachelor of Music in Jazz at The VCA. I completed stage 2 music (year 12 course) in grade 11, achieving some of the highest marks in the Northern Territory and have a love for all styles of music and never limit myself to playing a specific genre.
Over the past few years I have achieved awards for “Top Music Student” at Kormilda College, “Top Performer” at Darwin High, “Darwin Beat Award”, “Northern Territory School of Music Principal’s Award” and 2 “Drumtek Intensive course Completion Certificate”.
In this past years I have studied/perform drums with some of the greatest international drummers in the world. These drummers include Virgil Donati (drummer for OTV, Planet X, Alan Holdsworth), Dom Famularo (Global drum Ambassador), Gregg Bissonette (Drummer for Ringo Starr’s All-star Band) and Daniel Glass (Drummer for The Royal Crown Revue).
In 2014 after graduating from Darwin High I was accepted into The Sydney Conservatorium and The Victorian College of the Arts (Melbourne University) to study a Bachelor of Music in Jazz for 2015. Both the ‘Sydney Con’ and ‘VCA’ only accept 7 or less drummers (out of hundreds) worldwide and are two of the top music institutions in Australia.
As far as performance, my experience spans from supporting artists such as The Living End, The Amity Affliction, Justice Crew, Vance Joy, to performing at the world famous Bennets Lane Jazz Club and various festivals in Darwin.
I teach skills from rudiments, groove/rhythms, fills, technique, band setting, limb coordination, different styles/genres and much more.
I love meeting and sharing my approach to drummers (or soon to be drummers) and hope to inspire all my students to play to the best of their abilities.
