Professional Music Teachers in Australia

Dorian Broomhall

General Details

Bachelor of Music Performance

I am a full time member of the Royal Australian Navy Band and am very active in the Australian music scene. I have a limited number of openings in 2015 for students.

In 2013 I completed my studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, with a focus on Improvising. I am available to teach students of all levels, with initially a very focused technique – based approach that will aid with any style.

In the past I have performed in Orchestras and Chamber Groups in Tasmania. More recently since moving to Melbourne I have been working more as a jazz and commercial player. I recently completed a three month stint working in the major production of ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum’ starring Geoffrey Rush.

I also have a strong interest in composition and arranging, and am against ‘theory for theory’s sake’. If you wish to develop your skills in this area I can help.

I teach out of my home in Camberwell, although travel within the area can be negotiated, please get in touch – a slightly higher lesson price will apply.
