Elyane de Fontenay grew up in Canberra, and studied violin at the ANU School of Music, completing a Bachelor of Music in 2012, a Graduate Diploma in Music Performance in 2013, and a Master of Performance Teaching at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2015.
She has 27 years playing experience, has toured Europe and China with various orchestras, played with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra during her years in the capital, and still returns there from time to time to perform with them.
Elyane has 14 years teaching experience and teaches violin and viola in her private studio as well as at various schools. She is passionate and dedicated to the art of string teaching, and believes that each student has the potential to have an amazingly enriching experience when they are given the opportunity to play music.
