My name is Emily Crawford, and I would love to teach your child in the art of singing and music! My services differ from others on here, as I will travel to you to perform lessons. I know being a busy parent sometimes it is impossible to get away, so I am bringing everything required for lessons, to you!
I am currently a second year Bachelor of Music student, Majoring in Performance – Classical Voice at the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne. I am an enthusiastic and passionate musician who is extremely interested in sharing my passion and helping students achieve their goals and aspirations.
Being a performer myself, I am available to teach vocal lessons to young performers, up to the age of 16. Whether you are interested in completing exams, singing for leisure or wanting to broaden your knowledge of music, I am able to assist you in achieving your music goals! I have a deep understanding of the technical and musical aspects of singing due to my extensive training and performing. I have a love of many styles, such as classical, jazz, popular, and contemporary, and have trained extensively within these genres.
I offer not only vocal tuition and coaching but also music theory tutoring and lessons. I have a comprehensive understanding of music theory and have studied it over many years. I am able to teach Grade 3 theory to all ages.
I have extensive experience at performing, being on stage from a very young age. Many of my works include:
Dido and Anæas with Yarra Opera, Role of ‘Mabel’ in ‘Pirates of Penzance Jr.’ with Eltham Little Theatre, ‘The Play of Daniel’ & ‘Noye’s Fludde’ with Victorian Opera, G&S 2011 Festival in Buxton UK in “The Arcadians” & “Yeoman of the Guard” (GSOV), ‘My Fair Lady’ with Old Scotch Music and Drama, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ with OSMAD, ‘Trial by Jury’ & ‘HMS Pinafore’, ‘Annie Get your Gun’, ‘Oklahoma’, and ‘Les Miserable’.

I am also working my second year as the Musical Director for Eltham Little Theatre. I Conducted and Musical Directed the 2013 performance of ‘Aladdin Jr.’ working with children up to the age of 18, and will again in the year of 2014 in ‘Oliver!’.
My experience with working with children is extremely broad. My experiences through my work as not only a Musical Director, but also as a nanny have taught me patience, kindness, caring and above all, respect. I will tailor my lessons to work with your child, as I know that every children’s learning style is different.
