Bachelor of Education in Music ( Secondary), Intermediate Indonesian,
I am a fully registered music teacher, having graduated from The Institute of Education Melbourne in 1999 with a Bachelor Of Education in Music (Secondary). I am registered with the VIT – my current VIT Registration number is 306777 (valid untll 30/05/2010.) This degree enables me to teach classroom music, VCE Music, Music Technology, and Instrumental Music; and I have done CRT with the Victorian School of Languages teaching Indonesian.
My fields of expertise are primarily Piano, Electric and Double Bass, and I work in a number of ensembles on guitar, double bass, piano and violin. I am versed in a number of different styles. I also have a solid background in performance, recording studio techniques and creation, with a solid history of doing successful fellowships, field recordings and composition in the areas of new music and film sound tracks. I have a Bachelor Of Education in Music (Secondary), Intermediate Indonesian (U.S.Q) and Level 1B Spanish, and completed Grade 6 Double Bass and Grade 6 Piano, and Grade 4 Musicianship.
Ensembles I have worked with include – The International Strings Orchestra – (Biarritz, France,) Yana Alana and The Paranas, Cyclown Circus (Indonesia & Berlin,) Babaganoush, Duck Musique, Stiletto Sisters, Fandango and Madam Zuzu, Sista She, Vardos, Roadkill Rodeo Silent Box, and The Oculus String Quartet. I am currently teaching double bass, violin, cello, guitar and piano – working at Westbourne Grammar School (Truganina) and also at Jika Jika Community Centre (Westgarth). I am currently working with the Sljipovovich Serbian Ensemble, Tinderbox Collective, Yanah Alanah and Tha Paranas, The Flamingo Orchestra, Pete Reid and The Tar Gang, and am co-producing tracks with Musicians/Hip Hop artists from Palm Island in collaboration with Bcgolwman Future Incorporated (QLD) for a compilation CD due to be released next year.
