Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours
I am an Australian/Danish cellist who enjoys a multi-faceted career as a soloist and ensemble performer of classical and contemporary repertoire.
In 2012 I graduated from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Honours (under the tutelage of ANAM professor Howard Penny), before moving to Denmark to undertake further study with internationally renowned Danish cellist Jakob Kullberg, at the Rhythmic Music Conservatorium in Copenhagen.
July 2016 will see my return to Australia, to be based in Sydney as a free-lance cellist and teacher. Having taught for many years in both Australia and Denmark, my teaching draws from my rigorous classical training and orchestral experience, as well as my extensive creative involvement within a wide range of contemporary settings.
As a teacher, I believe a deep technical understanding of the instrument goes hand in hand with creative musical freedom, and therefore strive to provide a balanced teaching which unites technique and creative development. I aim to cater my teaching to the needs and aspirations of the individual student, and teach all ages from beginner to advanced.
