Hannah studied music under scholarship at the Australian National University graduating with a B.Mus (hons).
She was 2011 recipient of the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award in Jazz and currently works extensively throughout Sydney as a performer and educator.
As a band leader, she has performed at most major Australian jazz venues from Sydney’s SIMA Sound Lounge, Venue505, Foundry 616 to the Brisbane Powerhouse and Bennetts lane as well as appearances at the Wangarratta Jazz Festival, Jazzgroove Summer Festival, Capitol Jazz Project and the Sydney Women’s International Jazz Festival. Hannah recorded her debut album at ABC studios, with a second due fro release in 2014. As a side person she has toured with Katie Noonan, Angie Hart (Frente) Abby Dobson and Dean Manning (Leonardo’s Bride), as well as performing with renowned Australian Jazz artist Alistair Spence, Sandy Evans, Don Burrows and Dale Barlow amongst others. She has worked in musical theatre, contemporary jazz big bands, small ensembles, pop/rock groups, cabaret, vocalists and orchestra.
As an Educator, Hannah currently tutors privately and in secondary schools in the Sydney Area. She is a tutor for the SIMA/Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Young Women in Jazz Workshops and has tutored in studio skills for Music – Count us In. Hannah also works as in a relief capacity as a classroom music teacher years 7-12 and in helping prepare and accompany students for their HSC performances.
