I have been playing guitar for 38 years and in that time have had the privilege of working and recording with a number of great artists from a range of musical fields.
My teaching covers all styles of music from country to rock and also finger style acoustic Ala Tommy Emmanuel.
This is for both acoustic and electric guitar.
No age restrictions either, currently students range from 6 to late 60’s.
This background has provided a solid footing for a teaching career that started in Sydney and now continues in the Hunter Valley with past students now at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music.
Currently I am teaching in areas from Cessnock/Kurri Kurri, Warners Bay/Belmont to Branxton/Singleton.
I have now incorporated Bass Guitar and Banjo lessons into my tuition.
Students have commented that my enthusiasm and love for the guitar rubs off on my them and this only tends to encourage them further in learning.
My teaching principles centre around providing lessons suited to each individual students requirements, their level of interest in the instrument and the standards they hope to achieve.
In other words, I understand the different reasons why students want to learn the guitar.
Teaching methods include the use of books, computer courses and DVD’s where necessary to facilitate further comprehension of playing techniques.
Songs and Theory combined with a no pressure learning experience is what I hope will lead to satisfied and happy pupils.
An extensive knowledge of guitars and associated equipment means I can also do guitar set-ups and repairs.
Prices on these vary depending on what is required and all instruments are treated as if they were my own.
