Isabella’s music journey began when she started learning the piano at the age of 2. Throughout her high school years in the United Kingdom, Isabella was highly commended for her musical ability. She was involved in the senior choir and orchestra playing the harp and the flute. Isabella also won numerous inter-school and cross-county singing competitions in the United Kingdom.
After coming to Sydney, Isabella discovered and fell in love with Musical Theatre via watching one of her friends in the Musical Miss Saigon.
Over the years, Isabella has dabbled into both performing and directing. She served as the music director and creative arts director for several years in a Sydney Church, producing several musicals and shows for the local community. Isabella was involved in various CD recordings released both locally and internationally. Isabella was also a featured vocalist in the pre-production stage of the upcoming Broadway musical Angels.
Isabella has been trained as a singer for more than 20 years. Well endowed with a vocal range of over 3 octaves (D3 – E6), Isabella is able to sing various types of music including classical, jazz, contemporary, rock, pop and music theatre.
Isabella was awarded the prestigious Performing Arts Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004 at Nirimba Contemporary Music College where she studied Music Theatre (Singing, acting and dancing) with Broadway Director Stephen Helper.
After Nirimba, Isabella continued her singing training with Australian Idol coach Erana Clark. Isabella collaborated with Erana on several original songs. Samples of these are available under the Band Profile tab.
As a dancer, Isabella trained with the passionate Louie George at Studio 26 (Greenwich). She continues to hone her skills in various types of dance including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop and Tap at various Sydney dance schools.
In 2011, Isabella wrote and performed in her first Cabaret musical – Taking Chances A Fusion Cabaret. This show was featured in the 2011 Sydney Fringe Festival and received raving reviews form The Daily Telegraph.
Isabella regularly performs at wedding and corporate gigs and was a resident singing teacher at the Dance and Music Centre at Chatswood until November 2011.
In 2012, Isabella accepted a teaching role at Western Sydney Institute of TAFE Nirimba where she completed her Certificate IV in Music Theatre. There she taught singing, dance and movement to students studying Certificate III Theatre & Screen Performance and Certificate IV Music Theatre. At the end of that year she directed the Certificate III end of year mini musical – Budget Law Firm, a musical devised entirely by the students themselves under Isabella’s supervision. Isabella is currently still teaching at TAFE where she enjoys mentoring and encouraging the up and coming new artists.
In 2013, Isabella started working at The Star, hosting one of the largest Karaoke Competition in Sydney. The program ran from May – November 2013. While waiting for season 2 of the Karaoke Comp to return in 2014, Isabella now focuses her time on her band Scarlet Fusion (www.scarletfusion.com.au) with Sam Hanson playing at the Star VIP Sovereign Lounge and Oasis Lounge.
Isabella is a multidisciplinary artist involved in both performing arts and visual arts (Master of Design UNSW – graphic design and photography). She also occasionally models and collaborates with local photographers and fashion designers.
