I’ve been playing trombone since I was 10 and have loved it ever since. I am now studying with Tom Coyle (Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s principal Bass Trombonist). Since taking up the trombone, I have learnt trumpet, euphonium and tuba on the side. Along with this I have been playing the piano since age 4 and with a piano teacher for a mother I was always practising!
I am currently in my third year at the Queensland Conservatorium studying Advanced Performance, majoring in Bass Trombone. In addition to these studies, I am teaching piano and a variety of brass at two primary schools located in Coorparoo and Camp Hill.
In the performance industry, I regularly play in both classical and jazz scenarios with bands such as the ‘Enthusiastic Musician’s Orchestra’, the Queensland Wind Orchestra, Queensland Philharmonia, Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra and played in numerous musicals around Brisbane. This year I am also the principal bass trombonist in the Queensland Youth Orchestra’s leading orchestra, the Queensland Youth Symphony, along with the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and the Con Artists (the con’s leading jazz band).
I am very dedicated to my music and love playing in anything I can get involved with.
