B.Mus.(Hons), Dip.Ed (Adel).
Jane Becktel arrived on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia in 2011.
She directs the Jubila Singers, a mixed choir which sings world and classical music. One group meets in Green Point on Tuesday nights, and another group meets in Terrigal on Thursday mornings. The two groups learn the same repertoire and come together to perform or sing socially.
Jane also directs Zing! a women’s singing ensemble which rehearses at the Steiner school in Fountaindale.
Jane is a classically trained musician and experienced singing leader. After years of voice training Jane realised that she did not have the voice of a diva so decided to hide in a choir. From then on she was hooked on choral singing.
Jane holds a music degree, B.Mus.(Hons), University of Adelaide, Elder Conservatorium, and a Diploma in Education (Adel). She has taught big, medium and little people piano, theory, flute and composition for many years in addition to her choral work. She finds no greater joy than showing singers of all levels of experience how fulfilling and easy it is to sing together in harmony.
Details of the choir are on the website. Please contact Jane if you have any more questions.
