Jamie Castrisos, B.Mus (Perf), DipMus(Jazz) began playing the drums at the age of nine. He went on to High School at North Sydney Boys High School and was part of the jazz program there. He received a Bachelor of Music in classical percussion from the Sydney Conservatorium with Daryl Pratt and Richard Miller before completing a Diploma of Music in jazz studies, primarily with Andrew Dickeson, but also, Gordon Rytmeister, Dick Montz, Paul MacNamara, Judy Bailey, Craig Scott, Steve Brien and Bill Motzing.

He plays with the James Morrison sextet, Emma Pask, Dan Barnett, John Harkins trio, Richard Maegraith organ trio – Lotsa Leslie, Ian Cooper, Tim Fisher, Nic Jeffries, Papa Groove, The Wonderbrass, Rachelle Medley, Nat Conway, Synergy, Liz Carthew, and John Calder. Jamie was the principal drummer for the acclaimed Sydney RAAF Band. During his time there he backed artists such as Doug Parkinson, Grace Knight, Catherine Hunter, Glen Shorrock, Adrian Ross, and The McClymonts. He has also been part of The Sydney Youth Orchestra, The Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra, Quorum, Earl Gray, and The Opera House Babies Proms Orchestra.
