Senior first aid
I have been involved in music since I was a young child, when I started learning piano.
Since then I attended Marryatville High School with a music scholarship, where I pursued singing and picked up sax.
I have been playing sax in a big band setting since I began playing in 2006. I have played in bands with fellow sax players Steve Eads, Tilly Duncan and Alex Ioakim, and briefly worked with players such as Mike Stewart, ‘Schmoe’ Elhay and Tom Pulford.
I have played in the Marryatville High School Big Bands, the JazzSA Youth Super Bands, the AUMO (Adelaide University Medical Orchestra) Stage Band, and (when required) the Salt N’ Pepper Swing Band, run by Dr. Graeme Mussared.
I also regularly play in Playford City Concert Band, and during my school years sung in many choirs (Australian Youth Choir, Marryatville High School Concert Choir, Marryatville High School Pops Vocal, etc.), further expanding my musical knowledge in areas outside the big band style.
I have completed grade 3 AMEB theory and year 12 jazz theory. I have completed to grade 6 AMEB piano.
I also have lots of experience teaching!
I have tutored ages 10-16, taught piano to ages 8-10, taught saxophone to ages 12-20.
I also have experience working with people with disabilities, and currently study in the medical field (again, learning to communicate effectively with people).
Please note, I have no official qualifications for teaching music, merely my experience!
