TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Karen has just relocated back to Adelaide, South Australia. Based in London for 15 years, she taught and wrote vocal courses for pop vocal schools Vocal-Tech (Tech Music Schools), and is the Head of vocals for The Academy of Music and Sound. As well as starting the new Adelaide ‘Constellation Choir’ , she also runs special courses by request called The Colours We Sing, encouraging awareness and personal development through using different coloured lights with the voice. Her musical influences come from an eclectic mix of artists such as Seal, KD Lang, David Hykes, Alanis Morissette, Tibetan chant, Kate Bush, Nitin Sawhney, Tori Amos, Fleetwood Mac, Jazz, Soul & Blues.
Karen writes, arranges, records and produces all her music and can teach others to do the same. She has a Masters Degree in pop vocal Performance (Dist.) and her new album Metamorphosis contains contemporary original songs with a cinematic, esoteric, soulful flavour. Her New Age album Healing Vibrations illustrates her versatile talent as a writer and healer and is a powerful mix of intuitive lyric, relaxing music and deep tones tuned to the spine.
With over 15 years experience as a voice teacher, performer and songwriter, Karen has written voice courses, run workshops, acted as a private tutor and tutor for the institutions such as: Vocal-Tech (Acton, London), Academy of Music & Sound, (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Swindon, Exeter, Birmingham, Newcastle, Southampton) West London University, Stevie ‘Vann’ Lange’s Ebony and Ivory school (Colindale, London), Kensington and Chelsea college, Hammersmith College. In Australia she taught in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.
