Katie is a passionate vocalist, performer and teacher. She has studied Speech & Drama and Classical & Contemporary Voice under the expert tuition of Vicki Jones, Andrea Morris-Campbell (QUT) and David Kidd (Tenorissimo & The Ten Tenors) for over 20 years.
Katie pursued her love of The Arts further and obtained a Bachelor of Music & a Bachelor of Education – Secondary (Second Class Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology, enabling her to combine her two great loves – music and people. She is passionate about vocal health, diligent technique training and community singing. Katie has a myriad of performance and industry experience which is reflected in her teaching approach and style.
She aims to develop well-rounded, versatile vocalists & musicians and can provide students with tuition across vocal genres – Classical, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. Most importantly, Katie strives to foster the love of singing in students of all ages. She is currently teaching voice & guitar at the Australian Academy of Music in Brendale and is available to teach Monday, Tuesday Wednesday afternoons and Saturday.
