Kimberley completed a Bachelor of Music Performance at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts (majoring in Classical Voice), and has extensive performance experience, ranging from radio, to Shakespeare, short film, dance, puppetry and of course singing. Kimberley has a lot of experience working with both children and adults, as a tutor, performer and vocal coach.
The bulk of Kimberley’s performance background has been in Musical Theatre, and she has also had professional work as a vocalist at corporate functions and weddings, performing a range of music styles (contemporary pop, gospel, classical and jazz). Recent awards of Kimberley’s include being a Finalist in the 2015 WMC Singer of the Year Award, Third Place in the 2015 Armstead Singing Award, 1st place in the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition 2014 voice sections, 1st place in the Warrnambool Eisteddfod Championship solo 2014, finalist in the Robert Saltzer Vocal Championship 2014, admission into the penultimate round of an international competition in Italy 2012, the Music Lover’s Society Gordon Wright Memorial Award in the 2012 South Eastern Arts Festival Aria Final, The Loris Synan award in the 2012 National Liederfest Final, and the University of Melbourne Theatre Board Professional Development Scholarship Award for achievements in performance in 2010.
As part of Kimberley’s studies at the VCA, she completed units in applied vocal physiology, and can teach students about the workings of the voice, as well as safe singing techniques and vocal health. Kimberley has also been trained in the Estill Voice Craft method.
Kimberley has extensive experience working with children, as a teacher of English, History, Music and Dance, both in Australia, and as a volunteer in Ghana, Africa. In recent years, Kimberley has also worked as a Vocal Coach with amateur musical theatre companies around Melbourne.
