Lai Tak Chun, is a low brass teacher and specialist. Lai is currently a freelance tuba player with MSO and principal Eb tuba with Kew band Melbourne.

In 2014, Lai is a Master student at Melbourne University, studying with Principal Tuba of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Mr.Tim Buzbee.

Lai has performed with a number of orchestras and bands, including Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Northern Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra, Kew Band Melbourne, Hong Kong Symphonic Winds and Hong Kong Pro Arte Orchestra. He has performed under the baton of conductors such as Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Edo de Warrt, Esa Pekka Salonen, James Judd, Richard Pontzious, Stefan Solyom, François Xavier Roth and Perry So. He was a featured soloist in 2005 and 2009 with the Hong Kong Symphonic Winds.

Lai has been awarded many scholarships during his years of study. They include the Hong Kong Disney Scholarship (2010), Bernard Van Zuiden Music Fund Scholarship (2010), Asian Youth Orchestra Scholarship (2009), and the Hong Kong SAR Philharmonic Scholarship (2008).

Lai is the Champion of Open Bass Tuba section in Victorian Band’s League state solo 2012 and the Champion of Open High Tuba in Australian National Band Championship 2013.
