BMus (Otago), LTCL (Trinity), ATCL (Trinity) - Violin
I am currently studying Masters of Music Studies (Performance) at Sydney Conservatorium of Music in violin, with Professor Ole Bohn.
My past teachers include Tessa Petersan (William Evans Lecturer in Violin, Otago), and Edward Pople (past-AMEB committee member and examiner, Melbourne).
I have 8 years of teaching experience:
5 years in Malaysia
3 years in New Zealand
Violin- ATCL (Trinity), LTCL (Trinity), Bachelor of Music (Otago)
Piano- ATCL (Trinity), LGSMD (Guildhall)
Theory- Grade 8 (ABRSM)
Yamaha- Grade 5 – Teacher’s grade
I have taught students from 4 to 39 years old, with levels ranging from beginner to Grade 7. I have prepared my students for ABRSM, Trinity, and ANZCA examinations before. I am willing to explore the AMEB syllabus as I have used it in the past as well.
My previous students have done well in their music assessments, with a majority of them achieving disctinction as their results. However, I do not believe that my students should focus solely on music examinations but to also develop other aspects of musicianship such as chamber music, performance, improvisation, etc.. Most importantly, my aim is to share my passion of music with my students!
Lastly, I am a very patient and dedicated teacher and take joy in teaching :)
Please feel free to give me a text or a call to chat/arrange a free trial lesson.
