Making Music 4 Life was founded in 2007 by Registered Music Therapist Janine Shearer. She is extremely passionate about the positive benefits that actively making music can have on an individual’s health and well-being.
Janine is an enthusiastic presenter specialising in corporate and community music programs across the lifespan. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to make music to feel great, regardless of age or ability.
Janine currently specialises in teaching the ukulele to people (aged 9 – 92) in an individual (1:1) and ensemble setting, as well as providing corporate and community drum circle programs.
She is classically trained on the flute and piano with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne. She has over 30 years experience in music performance, education and therapy.
Her methods are grounded in music therapy practices and evidence-based research. Music therapy is an allied health profession in which music is used to actively support people as they strive to improve their health and well-being.
Janine is committed to delivering creative and innovative programs that are accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities, and that motivate participants to MAKE MUSIC.... 4 LIFE!
