Martin’s lessons cater for three main groups – children and beginners, teenagers, and adults. He will work with you to achieve your goals. Read on for more information…
Lessons for children, without exams? Learning to perfect a small number of pieces for examination can be counterproductive for young musicians. Martin’s students work on a large number of pieces over a short period of time, and develop their musicianship by applying what they learn in one piece to the next and the next. Students progress quickly, and love to learn!
Many teenagers progress to a certain point, but stagnate when there is a mismatch between what they are listening to on their iPods and the pieces they are working on at the piano. Why should there be? Martin caters his lessons for teenagers to enable them to bridge the gap, learning chord progressions, developing their aural skills, and applying their technique to the pieces they love.
Martin also works with adults of all ages, from absolute beginners to those with a background in music, including singers who want a better grasp of music or to be able to feel their way around the piano. He will work with you to achieve your goals :-)
