Melinda is in her third year of the Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium, University of Melbourne, studying Classical Piano under the guidance of Glenn Riddle.
She has participated in the Asean Competition and Masterclasses in Korea 2007 (bronze medal) and has won several Eisteddfod competitions locally. Moreover, she has been awarded with Distinction for the AMEB Piano Diploma of Licentiate in Music (LmusA). She was rewarded the VMTA’s Kault Piano Prize and was invited to perform at the AMEB awards ceremony. Melinda has also performed live broadcast on 3MBS as part of the Talent Series.
As the Dux of School at the Victorian College of Arts Secondary School (VCASS), Melinda has not only achieved high scores academic wise but also in VCE Music Investigation, Music styles and Music Performance Group (Piano trio). Thus, her trio was invited to perform in the Melbourne Recital Centre for VCE season of excellence 2013. Recently, Melinda has been selected to participate in an exchange program to the Sibelius Academy. She has completed Piano Pedagogy course with excellence and had participated in masterclasses by concert pianists such as Robert Levin and Professor Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist.
Melinda has started teaching at the age of 17. She is genuinely enthusiastic and a responsible teacher who provides a suitable learning environment for students. She conveys her passion for the piano through a captivating yet enjoyable way which students are able to understand easily and have the utmost fun in lessons.
