Michaela is currently on Maternity Leave and hopes to re-commence her teaching of voice and music theory at the end of 2012.
Michaela has four years teaching experience in singing tuition, music theory, choral teaching and teaching classroom music at various schools in Perth.
She will tailor lessons to students’ needs and ability. Michaela and her students discuss and monitor the importance of correct posture, the diaphragm and correct breathing techniques. Lessons will include a range of vocal warm ups and exercises which will help improve vocal range, pitch and tone. Michaela can provide a wide range of repertoire to suit the student, or students are welcome to bring their own songs to the lesson to learn. She will also incorporate music theory as part of her students’ lessons, as this is a fundamental part of studying voice or any musical instrument.
Michaela has experience teaching TEE Music and the current WACE course of music and can help students prepare for their singing exams and auditions as part of their school music subject.
Michaela graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Bachelor of Music – Contemporary Voice Studies and a Bachelor of Education – Music major and Dance minor in June 2011.
She has her Working with Children Check Card, Police Clearance and National Criminal History Check.
Michaela hopes she can share her joy of singing with others and is looking forward to hearing from you!
