Bachelor of Music (Jazz & Contemporary Studies) Monash Universirty
Mitchell has studied Jazz & Contemporary Performance at Monash University, graduating in 2009 with a distinction average. During his time at Monash, Mitchell was able to study with leading Australian musicians Rob Burke, Stephen Magnusson, and Tony Gould. In November 2009 Mitchell was fortunate enough to attend the Guiseppi Verdi School of Music’s Summer Jazz Program in Prato, Italy through Monash Abroad, where he was able to work with several leading musicians from Europe including Mirko Guerrini, Ares Tavolazzi, and guest American artist Paul Mc Candless.
As a performer Mitchell has has been active across Australia and overseas, having played with Kate Cebrano, Jim Mc Neely, The Mace Francis Orchestra, Horizon Art Orchestra, The West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Monash University Stage Band, the Victorian State Schools Spectacular Orchestra, the Pacific School Games Opening & Closing Ceremony Orchestras’ and toured Italy on behalf of the Monash University School of Music.
Mitchell has experience in teaching across a broad range of ages, having taught in both primary and secondary schools in Victoria and Western Australia. Mitchell is available for private tuition from his home in Menora.
