Musical Child programs were developed in 2003 in South Australia by a qualified and experienced curriculum writer. The programs are research-based, well-written resources promoting the early learning and development of children through music.
The programs have been structured around the developmental learning stages of children aged 1-3 years “Bounce and Sing” and 3-5 years “Sing and Play” and are informed by current Australian curriculum frameworks.
The programs are implemented by a team of musically qualified presenters in child care centres, kindergartens, community centres, libraries, private homes, and at family-centred events and arts festivals.
Orders for our products come from early childhood professionals, teaching and training organizations, and parents based in Australian cities and remote communities, as well as overseas countries such as Canada, USA, South Africa, Malaysia and Thailand.
Musical Child’s presence has enjoyed solid growth since 2003 and now includes regular live presentations in locations around Adelaide and in regional centres.
Fresh arrangements of traditional songs are recorded by Carol Biddiss and Janette Porteous. The music is available as high quality instrumental backing tracks as we know children benefit by hearing live singing voices of people they enjoy.
For each backing track there is a matching vocal track as we know that adults learn a song quickly and easily by hearing it sung. They can then move on to making use of the backing track when they sing it to the child.
The instruments that the children use during a session are robust, real instruments designed for young hands and chosen for their excellent sound production.
