Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance)
Natalie has been singing from a very early age learning from some of the best teachers in Melbourne. She finished her Bachelor of Music (Jazz Vocal Performance) in 2009.
Through her tertiary education in music, Natalie gained a solid understanding of music theory and was exposed to a range of styles such as jazz, pop, folk, soul/R&B and music theatre, all of which she feels comfortable teaching.
Natalie has a fun yet educational approach to singing and music and can teach a range of ages. She is certain to create a caring and supportive envrionment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves musically. She can cater for beginner, intermediate and advanced students, having taught AMEB and VCE singing. She is also confident preparing students for auditions (VCA/music theatre etc..).
Natalie’s passion for music branches off into other areas as well. She offers aural and theory tuition and support for those studying VCE Music. Natalie also teaches many students piano and has been playing herself for nearly 20 years.
Currently, Natalie regularly performs her own songs as well as pop, soul and jazz standards on a weekly basis around Melbourne. She has performed with various groups and bands at venues such as Spiegeltent, Sidney Myer Music Bowl and has been involved in a small vocal group who have sung at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival and the Stonnington Jazz Festival with musicians such as Lior and Barney McCall. In 2014, she toured Australia with Invenio to promote their latest album, ‘Clarion/Whisper.’ 2015 saw the release of her first pop single, ‘Time’. She is set to release a string of follow up songs as well as a trio album in 2016.
