Bachelor of Jazz Performance
Nick Di Gregorio is a musician/guitarist who has returned to Melbourne after graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor in Jazz Performance in 2012.From 2007-2009 he attended the internationally recognized music institution Victorian College of The Arts Secondary School where he was awarded a scholarship to study Classical guitar under the tuition of Ben Dix, and Improvisation under Peter Petrucci. Nick has performed in original ensembles under his own name as well as classical guitar ensembles, big bands, pop/rock cover bands, hip hop groups, in musicals and various other groups, Playing in a number of well-known venues throughout Australia such as; the Melbourne Recital Centre, Hamer Hall (Melbourne), Bennett’s Lane Jazz Club (Melbourne), Iwaki Auditorium (Recorded on the ABC), Tilley’s Jazz Club (Canberra), Promethean Jazz Club (Adelaide), Hisense Arena (Melbourne), The Comedy Theater (Melbourne), Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Government House (Melbourne), Heath Ledger State Theater Center (Perth), Ellington Jazz Club (Perth), The Regal Theatre (Perth) and Perth Convention Centre. In Perth Nick was apart of the WAYJO’s (Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra) Composers ensemble and was recently nominated for 2011 WAM’s (Western Australian Music Industry Association) song of the year for his composition ‘Spring Yard’.
