I am a young and highly capable brass musician. Low brass is my specialty (I am highly skilled at Euphonium, Tuba and Trombone).
If you are unfamiliar with the Euphonium, it is like a small tuba and the valve and embouchure technique used to play it is identical to the technique used for all other valved brass (Trumpet, Cornet, Flugel, Tenor Horn, Baritone Horn, Tuba).
As such, I can teach these instruments. I am also able to teach Trombone due to my experience on that unique instrument.
French Horn is the only brass instrument I wont teach as it is technically quite different to the rest.
I completed the HSC in 2012 with a Band 6 in “Music 2” and an E4 in “Extension Music”. Those are the highest possible bands in the hardest High School Certificate music courses. My extension score of 49/50 is particularly notable.
I currently play Tuba with the Newcastle Youth Orchestra. I auditioned for and was accepted into the National Australian Youth Brass Band on the Baritone Horn which then led to me being awarded a bursary and membership in National Australia Brass, a highly selective musical organisation.
Toronto Brass is my home band and I have received an extensive education in ensemble playing with them and various other groups over the past 10 years.
I will take on brass students of all ages and abilities in the Newcastle, Cessnock and Lake Macquarie regions.
My students have the option of learning for leisure or preparing for AMEB grades.
The opportunity to perform at eisteddfods and/or be incorporated into ensembles I have connections with will open to all students.
