Bachelor of Music (QCGU)
Learning from an experienced teaching professional can be one of the most important factors facing a student’s success. Whether your the parent of a rising star or looking to pursue music as a hobby, private tuition is proven to significantly increase a student’s likelihood towards achieving their goals.
Through my private studio I have taught saxophone and flute extensively to students from a wide variety of ages and backgrounds. I am well versed in the saxophone and flute syllabuses of the Australian Musical Examination Board (AMEB) and can be of excellent help in preparing individuals towards their examinations. You can be assured that our lesson’s will inform and guide you towards effectively improving your abilities.
I am a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University where I studied a Bachelor of Music in saxophone and flute. I have also studied tertiary level music at the Canberra School of Music (Australian National University). I now maintain an active role as a freelance musician within Brisbane, performing in a variety of musical settings e.g. jazz, classical, pop, reggae etc.
It is with great joy that I have had the opportunity to nurture the abilities of tomorrow’s musicians. As a teacher I strive to provide each student with a fun, supportive and inspiring environment. Most of all, lessons aim to increase a student’s enjoyment, confidence and connection towards music.
Lessons are conducted from my teaching studio in West End on Monday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Lessons cater to the interests of each student while placing concurrent emphasis upon:
-Injury prevention / correct postures
in addition to having taught instrumental music through my own private studio, I have also taught at numerous private music studios and school workshops.
