BMus (Music Education), AMusA in the subject of Tenor Horn
I am a secondary music teacher currently teaching at a high school in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. I teach all brass instruments, but specialise in trumpet, tenor horn, trombone and French horn.I have been playing tenor horn for 15 years, piano for 18 years, trumpet for 12 years and have studied french horn with the principal horn player of the Queensland Orchestra.
I am currently the solo tenor horn player with an A grade brass band, and being a section leader at such a high level has helped develop my leadership and teaching skills as I regularly conduct sectionals. I also compete in state and national competitions every year, and have achieved a number of state and national championship titles.
I have extensive brass performance experience, having performed at everything from band gigs, local council functions, to musical theatre pit orchestras, to being a featured soloist at the Sydney Opera House.
I teach students of all ages and abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced and from primary school to adult students. I enjoy passing my musical knowledge onto others and always do so in a friendly and stress-free environment.
