I have a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in clarinet performance. I have been playing for more than twenty years and teaching for over a decade. I am actively involved in a number of music ensembles and musical theatre, playing in both professional and amateur ensembles and productions.
I have vacancies for lessons at my home in Golden Grove on clarinet (beginner to advanced level), saxophone (beginner to high intermediate level) or flute (for the enthusiastic beginner). Theory and aural lessons are also available upon request.
Please note that currently there are no vacancies for lessons outside of business hours. However, I have several lesson vacancies in after school and weekend timeslots.
Lessons are set at $27 per half hour or $50 per hour (a rate rise of $2 per 30min lesson is to commence in July 2016). Lessons are taught on a term account basis (with school terms being the model) with school holiday lessons as an optional extra.
Are you an adult beginner? It’s never too late to pick up that instrument you have loved listening to! Why not give it a go?
Want to learn just for fun? Want to play Disney and movie themes, dabble in jazz, or play in a group with friends and in community ensembles? I strongly encourage ensemble playing for those wishing to learn for fun as this can be a most rewarding and musically rich experience.
Want to do AMEB exams or prepare for senior level school assessments? I have many years of experience in preparing students for Australian Music Board exams and SACE Stage 1 and 2 with good results from all students. I promote good technique from the first lesson, focusing on good embouchure, posture and breathing. I encourage and promote as many performance opportunities as possible such as Eisteddfods, student concerts, ensemble playing and playing in front of family members/friends to gain the most experience in playing in front of audiences.
