NIDA - Bachelor of Dramatic Art
Do you want to explore more of you this year while improving your technique and getting the right industry advice?
The Mac Project Studio is a creative development studio based in Richmond, Melbourne run by NIDA graduate MaryAnne McCormack.
I am a Voice Expert. A Vocal (singing), Acting, Dialect & Creative Coach. I work with Vocalists, Actors, Singers and Songwriters, some who are already well established in their industry, and some who are just starting out. I also coach a handful of everyday awesome humans who are simply interested in tapping into their creative energy for personal and professional development and exploration.
I offer one-on-one Singing, Acting & Dialect (accent) Coaching, specialising in General American and RP. I run 1:1 sessions, vocal courses and have conducted classes and workshops at some of Australia’s top Performing Arts Colleges.
I coach students at all ages and skill levels and tailor lessons to each individual’s unique goals and motivations.
A little bit of client love:
Cosima Del Leonis – Singer/Artist
I had the pleasure of working with MaryAnne for a few weeks this year. I flew in all the way from Austria because from the first email exchange we had I knew that she was exactly the coach I was looking for. Finally I found someone who could help me to get to ‘my own voice’ after copying so many other artists in the past. The spiritual approach was just what I needed! Mary Anne helped me to connect to myself and my voice has not been the same since! Much deeper, more honest and truly me! -Thank you MaryAnne
Emma Choy Actress/Singer/Mother
I absolutely LOVED our session. I have a renewed energy towards my voice again and can’t wait until I have the time to focus on my voice and my whole body. The freedom I felt vocally was very unexpected especially given I could barely squawk a note the night before! It was really unbelievable. And not just the freedom I felt, but the quality of the sound that came out was really quite amazing. I just wanted to keep working! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to learn from you. It was a real gift.
Tim Barsby – Singer/Actor
The most beautiful qualities of MaryAnne and there are many, are her passion, warmth, and uncompromising devotion to you – the artist, and her light. Maryanne facilitates a space of warmth, safety, love and creativity, where she guides you to find your truth – accessing that feeling place, which is crucial for any performer. I have grown considerably as a person, and subsequently as an artist through her sessions. Ive learnt to break down self imposed barriers to have some of the most sacred and life changing experiences to date. MaryAnne is real, open and honest and quite simply put- one of the best teachers in the business. If you want to go to the next level, Maryanne McCormack is it.
As a coach, I teach and guide you through your chosen creative discipline to help you achieve your individual goals. But what I am particularly interested in is the growth of you as a person. The creative disciplines are a means for you to go deeper into you and, as a result, you will emerge more centered and more fully connected to yourself, to your life and to others. You’ll see the benefits in everything you do, whether it be in your work as a professional singer/actor or as fully rounded human being out in the world in your every day life.
You cannot explore the voice and acting without finding out more about yourself in the process. It’s up to you how deep you go, but what you will discover definitely has a ripple effect to other areas of your life.
‘You lived that moment in such delight that it has given you some inner growth. You cannot be the same after a creative act.’ – OSHO
Creativity is more than just a creative art; it’s the ability to generate ideas and connections between ideas, enabling us to solve problems in our daily lives. Using various creative disciplines I help reconnect you to your essential nature, the creative. It’s in all of us, we were all born creative. Watch any child and you will see.
All children are born artists – the problem is to remain an artist as we grow up.
