General Details

Studying Bachelor of Music at The University of Melbourne

If you’re interested in learning an exciting instrument such as the trumpet then I have a great range of music and teaching skills to make your trumpet playing an exciting passtime or a career option!

Also if you are learning an instrument and need help with theory to get you to that next level, or if you’re having trouble understanding princple concepts to get you going on your instrument I’m happy to help tutor in Theory. My Theory background is very solid with both my mother and father being music teachers and tutoring me from an early age to near perfect VCE marks in year 12.

For the trumpet players:

I have a wide range of music to start off with and will happily transcribe any requests if you have a burning desire to learn any particular songs!

I enjoy seeing the student have fun whilst developing both as a trumpet player and a musician and will help set a schedule to promote healthy improvement!

My teachings have come from some of the greatest to walk this planet, having done masterclasses with: Dave Elton, Australia Brass Quinet, Kevin Cobb and Louis Hanzlik from the American Brass Quintet, Robert Sims, Greg Spence and currently studying with Dr. Joel Brennan. I’ve been lucky enough to perform for Maestro Zubin Mehta at Government House and some of my most cherished trumpeting memories come from my time at the Generations in Jazz festival at Mount Gambier.

Lesson times and location are negotiable- I’m happy to come to you if you’re in the city or south east of Melbourne, and am also available for group lessons or to teach at primary schools (as long as the location is in the area that I teach in).

Please contact me via email or phone if you have any questions or wish to express your interest in learning trumpet!
