Renee Heron

I have been a member of the Queensland Youth Orchestras for 11 years and toured Europe with Queensland Youth Symphony in 2004. In 2006 I was appointed principal 2nd violin in QYS and continued this role in 2007. In 2006-2007 I was a member of the QYS Energy Quartet, sponsored by Peabody Energy. As a member of this quartet, I performed in many Coates Hire Chamber Music Concerts at Twilight as well as participating in Mozart expert Stephen Barlow’s Mozart master class in early 2006. In 2006 my other string quartet, The QuarterSounders, won the 4MBS/Musica Viva Sid Page Memorial prize in chamber music. I have also participated in many Australian Youth Orchestra activities including the National Music Camp. In 2008 I am touring Europe with the Qld Youth Symphony.
