Honours Degree in Jazz Performance, Bachelor of Jazz Performance
I am a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, specialising in Jazz on the double and electric bass. I have been teaching music in private and public schools for over 10 years, as well as performing professionally in orchestral pits, cover bands, and jazz/rock/latin groups nation wide. I’m currently a full time musician in the Royal Australian Navy, employed on the double/electric basses, and the tuba.
Whether you are new to music, a beginner at the bass guitar, hit a plateau in your practice routine, requiring help for your HSC or AMEB exam, or you’re an advanced player, I will tailor your individual one-on-one lesson specifically to your needs and help you accomplish your next musical milestone.
Topics I can help you with include, but are not limited to: Jazz theory, classical theory, composition (handwritten and Sibelius), performance techniques, aural skills, harmony, music analysis.
I understand that some students don’t wish to study music and would rather play for fun. I ensure your lessons will teach you what you require in order to play your instrument, but to not stress or dishearten you by the idea of exams or auditions.
As everyone’s work or study schedules are different, I’ve ensured my teaching hours are quite flexible. Feel free to send me a text, email, or call me on 0420300385 to ask me any questions you may have, or to organise our first music lesson together.
$40 for a half hour lesson, $80 for an hour.
Don’t forget; Have fun with your music!
