I have extensive teaching and performing experience on the guitar (and on the saxophone, clarinet and flute as well as conducting and tutoring junior and senior concert bands), having taught students as young as four through to students well into their retirement. I can teach anything in the rock and pop world including metal and I can also teach classical and other fingerpicking styles as well as jazz, funk, and shredding. I can also teach reading music, theory, harmony and so on. I like to focus on improving dexterity through relaxed, effortless technique; improving overall musicality through attention to rhythm and an ear-driven approach to the instrument; and helping students learn music they are passionate about in order to foster a personal, self-directed love of the instrument. I’m also able to walk students through recording a multitracked demo or even simply recording the lesson so that the student has a reference to listen to during the week. I charge thirty dollars for a half hour lesson but I can do deals if you want to pay by the term.
Also available for hire as a performer. I’ve got a wide range of musical interests, I’m very comfortable doing things with little to no rehearsal and I’ve got a professional rig suitable for most sorts of music and venues.
