My name is Sarah Wei-Bennett. I am a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing where Mandarin originates and I am also fluent in English and Cantonese.
Since graduating from Beijing Normal (teaching) University, Department of Chinese literature and music in 1982, I have worked in music and language education for 28 years and have therefore acquired a wealth of experience in motivating students interest in learning by presenting active and vivid classes. I teach piano, violin, singing, musical theory and Mandarin.
As far as music teaching is concerned, I provide an encouraging environment with an emphasis on developing sound musical technique and self-confidence. Lessons are customized to suit the skill level of students from beginner to advanced for any age and are based on the AMEB Examination Program.
For Mandarin classes, my teaching focuses on daily practice in spoken Mandarin together with the development of knowledge of spelling and Chinese characters.
I also teach adult Chinese for business purpose and Chinese grade level test.
My rate will be between $40 -$50 per hour and more discount for group students.
