The study of the viola da gamba, especially music for the bass viol, is a rewarding experience for anyone at any age. Whatever your aims are, you will receive instruction in performing all kind of music; from the Italian renaissance consort to the English lyra viol. You will learn all about the practice of historical informed performance as well as basso continuo, bow and left hand technique, intepretation and historical treatises. Teacher places special emphasis on French baroque, especially Marin Marais. Introductory lessons available.
