BMus (Hons.) (Melb.), STCA (Suzuki Teaching Qualification), AMusA
I enjoy providing a fun, supportive environment in which the student (regardless of age or level) can achieve to the best of their ability. To accomplish this I draw upon many years of teaching experience in schools (ie. Caulfield Grammar), private music teaching schools and my home studio.
I have extensive training in both the Suzuki method and AMEB, and am accredited to teach both. In order to build upon these established teaching skills I regularly attend Professional Development courses.
One of the aspects of teaching which I enjoy most is to work with the student and family to adapt my teaching style to the student’s needs.
At the age of 16 I made my solo debut at Hamer Hall, and have gone on to enjoy an active performance and recording career including tours of Europe with a variety of ensembles.
In 2010 I was awarded Honours on completion of a Bachelor of Music degree from the Conservatorium of Music (University of Melbourne), where I studied with Elizabeth Sellars, Mark Mogilevsky and the internationally renowned pedagogue, Simon Fischer, of the Yehudi Menhuin School, London.
In recent years, I have performed with musicians such as Tina Arena, Nicolette Fraillon (Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Australian Ballet), James Morrison, and Professor John Hopkins, OBE. In 2007, I was a soloist at the Sala Verdi, Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, Milan, for an audience of over 1400 people.
